ClatScope ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the ClatScope mobile application available on the Google Play Store.
ClatScope facilitates responsible open-source intelligence (OSINT) investigations by allowing users to query publicly available information such as IP addresses, domain names, email addresses, phone numbers, and usernames.
We collect only the minimum information required to operate the app and provide core functionality. This may include:
We do not sell personal data, search queries, or usage activity to third parties. Data is not shared except where required by law or necessary to provide requested services.
Some advanced features rely on trusted third-party APIs to retrieve publicly available intelligence data (for example, threat intelligence or AI-powered analysis services). Queries sent to these services are limited to the information required to perform the requested lookup.
ClatScope does not control how third-party services independently process data. Users are encouraged to review the privacy policies of any external services involved.
To let you leave a scan running and return to its results later, ClatScope saves a history of your recent scans in the app's private storage on your device. This history includes the search terms you entered and the results returned, which may contain personal information relating to the subjects of your searches.
This scan history:
This on-device history is stored in the app's private storage area, which other applications cannot read on a standard, non-rooted device. It is not separately encrypted. If you are handling especially sensitive material, you should secure your device itself (screen lock, device encryption) and clear results you no longer need.
ClatScope lets you export a scan result as a PDF file, or send it to another application using your device's share sheet. These actions are always initiated by you.
When you export or share a result, that information leaves ClatScope and passes to a destination you choose — a file location on your device, a messaging app, an email client, or another service. Once it does, we have no visibility into or control over where it goes or who can access it.
Because OSINT results can contain personal information about other people, you are responsible for ensuring that any onward sharing is lawful and appropriate in your jurisdiction, and that you have a legitimate basis for disclosing it. Please consider carefully before sharing results into group chats, public channels, or social media.
ClatScope can send you a local notification when a scan you started finishes, so you do not have to keep the app in the foreground while it runs. On Android 13 and above you will be asked to grant notification permission; you may decline, and the app will continue to work normally without notifications.
These notifications are generated on your device. They contain only the name of the tool and whether the scan succeeded — no scan results — and they are not sent through, or visible to, our servers.
We apply industry-standard security practices to protect information processed through ClatScope. Data transmitted between the app and our services, and between the app and third-party lookup providers, is encrypted in transit using modern cryptographic standards.
Account information held on our systems is protected in accordance with those practices. Scan history stored locally on your device is handled as described in "Scan History Stored on Your Device" above.
Limited account or support data may be retained only as long as necessary to provide services or meet legal obligations.
You have full control over your personal data. ClatScope provides the following options for managing and deleting your information:
Upon account deletion, your data will be permanently removed from our systems, except where retention is required by law or necessary to resolve disputes.
ClatScope is designed exclusively for ethical, educational, and lawful research purposes. Misuse, abuse, or illegal activity is strictly prohibited and may result in restricted or revoked access.
ClatScope does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that such information has been collected without parental consent, it will be promptly removed.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
Token purchases are subject to Google Play's billing and refund policies. Where applicable:
